Beginning of the adventure

08:30 a.m. - We will start the tour with pick up from the hotels in downtown Arequipa. The touristic mobility will be ready to guarantee a punctual and comfortable departure.

Yanahuara and its colonial charm

We will explore the picturesque district of Yanahuara, famous for its ashlar portals, its traditional church and the unparalleled views of the imposing Misti volcano.

Carmen Alto viewpoint

From this viewpoint, we will enjoy the panoramic view of the countryside, the traditional terraces and the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes.

Incalpaca Minizootic

With free admission, we will observe the four South American camelids: llama, alpaca, vicuña and guanaco in a natural and educational environment.

History lives in the Casona Villa

Optionally, you can enter this colonial museum that preserves unique relics of the history of Arequipa. A trip to the past for culture lovers.

Sabandía Mill and optional activities

We will visit this working water mill, surrounded by nature and with another mini zoo. Here you will be able to choose from:

• ATV rides
• Zipline

You will also be able to taste typical Arequipa dishes in a rustic and cozy environment.

Last stop: Menelic Museum

You will meet the famous Arequipa bull, winner of multiple medals. An entertaining visit to close the tour with a smile.

Return to the city

We will end the tour leaving you near the Plaza de Armas so you can continue exploring Arequipa on your own.

Colca Tour - Day 1: Exploration and Adventure

Beginning of the Colca Valley Adventure

Departure from Arequipa

07:30 a.m. - We will start the tour with pick up from the hotels located in the historic center of Arequipa. We will take the road to Yura and enter the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, home of the emblematic vicuña.

Inca Mate in Patahuasi

We will stop in the picturesque village of Patahuasi, ideal for acclimatizing with a traditional Inca Mate, prepared with coca leaf, muña and chachacoma - perfect for preventing soroche.

Toccra wetlands

We will make a brief stop at the Bofedales de Toccra, where you will be able to observe dozens of alpacas feeding in freedom in an impressive natural environment.

Viewpoint of the Volcanoes

We will climb up to 4,900 m.a.s.l. to enjoy the Mirador de los Volcanes, from where we can appreciate the giants of the western mountain range such as Ampato and Sabancaya.

Arrival in Chivay and lunch

13:00 p.m. - We will arrive at the charming town of Chivay to enjoy a buffet lunch with typical flavors of the Colca Valley.

Relax and culture in the Colca

After lunch, we will settle into our hotels. In the afternoon, we will visit the thermal baths, famous for their waters with therapeutic properties for the skin and bones.

Typical night in the heart of the Valley

In the evening, we will experience a folkloric dinner show with traditional dances that will connect us with the living culture of the Colca.

Colca Tour - Day 2: Colonial Villages and Viewpoint of the Condor's Cross

Flight of the Condor and traditional Colca villages

Breakfast and departure to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint.

After enjoying breakfast at our hotels, we will depart for the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, undoubtedly one of the most emblematic places in the Colca Canyon. This will be the highlight of our morning tour.

Observation of the majestic Andean Condor.

From this viewpoint, we will have the incredible opportunity to observe the flight of the Andean Condor, one of the largest birds in the world. Thanks to the thermal currents of the canyon, the condors emerge majestically, providing an unforgettable natural spectacle.

Postcards of the Colca Canyon

In addition to the condors, the viewpoint will give us panoramic views that combine the immensity of the canyon with the majestic peaks of the mountain range. Thus, nature becomes the absolute protagonist of this experience.

Visit to the villages of Yanque and Maca

Then, we will start our return trip visiting two charming villages: Yanque and Maca, which preserve their Andean traditions and colonial architecture. These stops will allow us to learn more about the living culture of the Colca.

Yanque

In Yanque, we will visit its picturesque square and imposing church of San Juan Bautista, a colonial jewel of the 17th century. In addition, those who wish can relax in the nearby thermal baths of Chacapi.

Maca

Then, we will arrive in Maca, known for its church and its colorful traditional dances. It will also be possible to interact with the villagers, who keep alive their ancestral customs.

Lunch in Chivay and return to Arequipa.

12:30 p.m. - We will enjoy a buffet lunch in Chivay, perfect to recharge energies and taste the best of the local gastronomy.

17:30 p.m. - Finally, we will return to the city of Arequipa, where we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas so you can continue exploring on your own.
