This quarry is still in operation, and we will be able to observe the stonemasons working in the extraction of the sillar, a key stone in the architecture of Arequipa.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In this place we will see an impressive canyon surrounded by ignimbrite cliffs, formed by years of artisan work. We will also learn about the process of elaboration of the ashlar and its historical importance. It highlights a <strong>mega carving<\/strong> representing the Church of the Society of Jesus, made by the stonemasons themselves.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Culebrillas Creek<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Then we will go to the <strong>Quebrada de Culebrillas<\/strong>, about 30 minutes from A\u00f1ashuayco. Here we will hike for about 20 minutes through a natural canyon formed by the passage of water over the centuries.
