Itinerary
08:30 a.m. – Passenger pick up
We will begin the tour by picking up passengers at the hotels in downtown Arequipa, guaranteeing a punctual and comfortable departure for everyone.
09:00 a.m. – Beginning of the Ruta del Sillar
We begin our journey to the Sillar Route, a journey full of history and culture. Our first stop will be at the Añashuayco Quarry, located approximately 45 minutes away.
Currently in exploitation, here the quarrymen work from early in the morning, extracting the stone that has been fundamental for the architecture of Arequipa. We will be able to observe a vast canyon surrounded by ignimbrite cliffs that reach several meters high. We will tell you the history of the sillar, its elaboration process and its importance for the city. In addition, you will be able to admire a mega carving of the Church of the Company of Jesus, made by the stonemasons themselves.
10:30 a.m. – Culebrillas Creek
We will go to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, located 30 minutes from Añashuayco. Upon arrival, we will hike for approximately 20 minutes through this small canyon formed by the passage of water over the centuries.
The canyon walls, which reach between 15 and 20 meters high, rise as we advance, creating a unique landscape. At the end of the tour, we will admire Wari petroglyphs more than a thousand years old, living proof of the ancestral history of the region.
11:00 a.m. – Apachetas and Andean tradition
During the journey we will also observe the Apachetas, formations of stacked stones that represent a symbol of gratitude to nature. These structures are offerings to the Pachamama, a living tradition of the Andean cosmovision.
11:30 a.m. – Retorno a Arequipa
We will return to the city of Arequipa.
13:30 p.m. – Arrival to Arequipa downtown
We will arrive at the city center and drop off passengers near the Plaza de Armas.
01:50 p.m. – Pick up at Plaza de Armas
We begin our tour with a punctual pick up at Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas. From here, we will start our adventure to visit the most emblematic and charming places of the city and its surroundings.
District of Yanahuara
Our first stop will be the picturesque district of Yanahuara, famous for its well-preserved colonial architecture. We will walk through its iconic portals and visit its historic church, while we tell you the legends and history that make this place unique. In addition, from the Portales de Yanahuara we will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the Misti volcano, a perfect backdrop for your souvenir photographs.
Carmen Alto viewpoint
We will continue to the Mirador de Carmen Alto, a privileged point from where you can admire the impressive agricultural terraces of the district. Here the majesty of three volcanoes that guard Arequipa is revealed: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. The panoramic view is simply unforgettable.
Incalpaca Minizootic
Our next visit will be to the Incalpaca Mini Zoo, where you can learn about the four South American camelids: llama, alpaca, vicuña and guanaco. Admission is free and it is an ideal opportunity to learn about these species so representative of the region.
Casona Villa
Then, we will visit the Casona Villa, an old colonial house converted into a museum that holds valuable historical objects of Arequipa. The visit is optional but recommended for those who wish to delve into the rich local history.
Sabandía Mill
We will head to Molino de Sabandía, a picturesque place where a traditional water mill still operates and where you will also find a small zoo. Here, optional activities are available for those who wish to add adventure to the experience:

In addition, you will be able to taste typical Arequipa dishes in this natural and cozy environment.
Menelik Museum
Finally, we will visit the Menelik Museum, home of Arequipa’s most famous bull, recognized for its numerous medals and legendary history.
06:00 p.m. – Return to the center of Arequipa
At the end of the tour, we will return to the city center, leaving you near the Plaza de Armas so you can continue exploring on your own.

03:00 a.m. Departure from Arequipa to Chivay.
We will arrive at the town of Chivay to enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we will go to the Mirador de la Cruz del Condor.
The Cruz del Condor viewpoint is one of the most emblematic and visited points of the Colca Canyon, located in the southern region of Peru. This viewpoint offers a spectacular view of the deep and majestic walls of the canyon, which extend over 4,000 meters deep.
Andean Condor Observation
The highlight of this viewpoint is the opportunity to observe the majestic Andean Condor, one of the most impressive flights in the world. In the early morning hours, the condors emerge from the depths of the canyon, gliding over the thermal currents in search of food. With a wingspan that can reach up to 3 meters, these enormous birds offer a unique spectacle for visitors.

The towns of Yanque and Maca, located in the Colca Valley, are two charming destinations that stand out for their rich history, colonial architecture and living traditions. Both towns preserve their Andean essence, fusing the colonial influence with the ancestral customs of the indigenous peoples of the region.
Yanque
Yanque is known for its main square, where the church of San Juan Bautista is located, a colonial style construction dating from the 17th century. This town is famous for its colorful landscapes, its pre-Inca agricultural terraces and its proximity to the Chacapi Hot Springs, a perfect destination to relax after a day of exploration. In Yanque, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the place, stroll through its cobblestone streets and experience rural Andean life.
Maca
Maca, on the other hand, is another of the most picturesque colonial towns in the Colca Valley. The Church of Maca, also of colonial origin, is an outstanding example of the religious architecture of the time, with beautiful frescoes and details that narrate the history of the town. Maca is known for its cultural traditions, such as the typical dances performed during local festivities, and for its hospitality. Chacapi Hot Springs
The Chacapi Hot Springs, located in the district of Yanque, in the Colca Valley, are a perfect destination for those seeking relaxation and connection with nature. These hot springs are known for their therapeutic properties and their privileged natural environment, surrounded by Andean landscapes and the Colca River.
Thermo-Medicinal Properties
The waters of Chacapi have a temperature ranging between 38°C and 45°C and are rich in minerals such as iron, calcium and magnesium, which makes them ideal for relieving muscular ailments, improving circulation and revitalizing the skin.
Infrastructure and Experience

Viewpoint of the Patapampa Volcanoes
We start our way back to Arequipa and during the trip we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest area of the road (4900 m.a.s.l.), where we will appreciate a great part of the volcanic chain. Then we will make a short stop also in the Bofedales de Toccra Pampa where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area.
Bordering the snow-capped Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas we will pass through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, home of vicuñas which live freely in this area.
18:00 p.m. We will arrive in the city of Arequipa and we will leave you very close to the main square.
01 NIGHT IN AREQUIPA
Discover the Magic of the Salinas Lagoon
06:00am – 06:30am – Pick up from your hotels in the city center.
Visit to Mirador de los Volcanes and Chiguata Village
07:30am – Our first stop will be at the Mirador de los Volcanes in the district of Chiguata, which we will reach in approximately 45 minutes. From this point, we will be able to observe the most representative volcanoes of the region and take memorable photos. Then, we will go to the town of Chiguata, where we will visit its main square and the traditional Espíritu Santo Church. Afterwards, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast typical of the area.
Stop at Alto Simbral and arrival at Laguna de Salinas.
Later, after a journey of approximately one hour, we will make a brief stop at Alto Simbral (4200 m.a.s.l.), a place where we will be able to observe typical plants of the area such as Queñua, Yareta and Tola.
Continuing on, we will arrive at the beautiful Salinas Lagoon, where we will stay between one and one and a half hours. During this time, we will make several stops to observe birds such as flamingos and parihuanas, water mirrors (from January to March), and other animals such as vicuñas, llamas and alpacas, which can be seen throughout the year. In the dry season, from April to December, we will visit the salt extraction centers, ideal for creative and fun photos.
Mini Volcano, Lojen Hot Springs and return to Arequipa.
Then, we will continue our tour to the Mini Volcano and the Lojen Hot Springs, where we will have the opportunity to relax with a bath in natural hot springs.
Finally, we will return to Chiguata for lunch and then we will start our way back to the city of Arequipa.

We will start the tour by picking you up from your hotels located in the historic center or from a meeting point in the main square of the city.
Toro Muerto Petroglyphs Tour
The tour will take you to discover the impressive samples of rock art in the Majes Valley, Arequipa. First, we will explore the famous Toro Muerto Petroglyphs, an archaeological complex with thousands of pre-Hispanic engravings. These petroglyphs offer a unique window into the past, showing geometric figures, animals and scenes that reflect the life and beliefs of ancient cultures such as the Wari.
This site is located about 80 kilometers from Arequipa, in an arid and isolated area, ideal for those who love history and archeology. You can take a guided tour, take pictures and walk quietly to appreciate every detail.
Dinosaur tracks at Querulpa
Then, we will visit the Dinosaur Footprints in Querulpa, another fascinating attraction in the Majes Valley. Here you can observe fossilized footprints of dinosaurs that inhabited the region more than 100 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period.
The site is accessible and has a guided tour that explains the origin and importance of these footprints. In addition, the arid and mountainous landscape of the valley makes the experience even more spectacular for paleontology and nature lovers.
Lunch at Corire Village
After these visits, we will head to the picturesque village of Corire to enjoy the delicious local gastronomy. Here you will savor traditional dishes that reflect the rich culture and authentic flavor of the region.
Relaxation in the Chancharay Pool
We will continue to the Chancharay Spa, a recreational complex known for its hot springs and relaxing natural environment. This place is perfect to relax, enjoy the pools of different temperatures and take advantage of wellness services such as massages.
The bathing resort is surrounded by mountains and vegetation, ideal for walks and moments of relaxation with family or friends.
Visit to a Wine and Pisco Winery
To close the experience, we will visit a local winery where you will learn all about the elaboration of wine and pisco, two of Peru’s most emblematic beverages. During the guided tour, you will learn about the process from grape harvesting to bottling.
At the end, you will enjoy a tasting of wines and piscos, and you will be able to buy your favorites to take home as souvenirs.
20:30 pm – Return to Arequipa
Finally, we will return to the city of Arequipa, leaving you near the Plaza de Armas, after a day full of history, nature and traditions.
1 Night in Arequipa
06:00 a.m. Tour Start and Pick-up
We will start the tour with the pick up of each passenger to leave the city of Arequipa towards Yura. This will be the starting point for our adventure through the natural and cultural attractions of the region.
Town of Pampa de Arrieros
The first stop will be in the picturesque village of Pampa de Arrieros. Here we will visit an old train station, which was very important during the colonial era. We will take the opportunity to take a short walk and visit its church and historic buildings that retain the charm of the past.
Vicuña Viewpoint in the Salinas y Aguada Blanca Reserve
We will continue to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve, where we will visit the vicuña lookout point. This majestic animal, protected by the state, is a symbol of the Andean fauna and belongs to the camelid family. From the viewpoint, we will enjoy a spectacular landscape and learn about the importance of this species in the local ecosystem.
Patahuasi: Nature and Tradition
The next stop will be in Patahuasi, a special place where we recommend trying the Inca mate, an infusion made with three Andean herbs: coca leaf, muña and chachacoma, ideal for adapting to the altitude.
In addition, we will explore the famous Patahuasi Castles, natural rock formations that, with a little imagination, reveal animal figures carved by nature.
Pillone Falls and Stone Forest
We will then head to the town of Imata, on the border with Puno. From here we will begin a hike through a ravine, following the river bank until we reach the impressive Pillone waterfall, an ideal place to connect with nature and enjoy its beauty.
Afterwards, we will visit the Imata Stone Forest, considered an energetic point by the local community. Here we will admire various natural figures formed in the rocks by the erosion of wind and rain over time, a natural spectacle that fascinates all visitors.
17:00 p.m. Return to Arequipa
Finally, we will return to the city of Arequipa, where we will leave the passengers near the Main Square, closing a day full of unforgettable experiences.
