Overview
The Salinas y Aguada Blanca Reserve is a protected area located in southern Peru, in the Arequipa region. It is one of the main refuges of flora and fauna in the Andes and is known for its biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes.

Itinerary
Start of the tour
Between 06:00 a.m. and 06:30 a.m. we start the pick up from the hotels located in the center of Arequipa. We begin an unforgettable Andean experience, full of unique landscapes and local customs.
Viewpoint of the Volcanoes at Chiguata
At 07:30 a.m. we arrive at the viewpoint of the district of Chiguata. At this point, after 45 minutes of travel, we contemplate the imposing volcanoes of the region and take excellent pictures.
Visit to the village of Chiguata
Then we head to the main square of Chiguata, where we visit the Espiritu Santo church. Afterwards, we enjoy a typical local breakfast, prepared with local products and tradition.
High Threshold and high Andean flora
We continue the route for about an hour to the Alto Simbral, at 4200 meters above sea level. There we make a stop to observe plants such as queñua, yareta and tola, typical of the high Andean ecosystem.
Exploration in the Salinas Lagoon
Continuing with the tour, we arrive at the beautiful Laguna de Salinas. There we stay between an hour and an hour and a half, making several stops to observe the fauna and the natural landscape.
Wildlife observation and unique landscapes
During the rainy season (January to March), we admire water mirrors, flamingos and parihuanas. Throughout the year, it is possible to see vicuñas, llamas and alpacas in their natural habitat.
Dry season and photographic salt flats
Between April and December, we visited the salt extraction areas. In this white and wide scenery, creativity is key to achieve original and fun photos in the middle of the altiplano.
Mini Volcano and Hot Springs of Lojen
Then we continue the tour to the Mini Volcano, a curious and unique natural formation on the way to Lojen.
We end the route with a relaxing bath in the hot springs of Lojen, surrounded by nature and tranquility, ideal for resting the body and renewing energy.
Chiguata and return to Arequipa
Finally, we return to the village of Chiguata to enjoy a local lunch. Afterwards, we start our way back to the city of Arequipa.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. we arrive in the city and leave you near the Plaza de Armas, thus ending this beautiful Andean experience.

In case you are not staying in hotels in the historic center, you have to go to the Plaza de Armas to board the transportation. First we pick up the passengers that are in the Plaza de Armas and then we start the pick up from the hotels.
