  • How far away is the Colca Valley from Arequipa?

The Colca Valley is located from the city of Arequipa; it takes about 3 hours to get to the town of Chivay, which is the capital of the province of Caylloma, where you will find all the main services such as lodging, restaurants, night entertainment centers and others.

  • What is the best season to visit the Colca Valley?

You can visit the Colca all year round, however the best time to visit is between April and December since the rainy season is ending and these are the months that show the most greenery of the Colca Valley and all its landscapes.

  • What clothes should I bring to the Colca?

In the Colca Valley the weather varies seasonally, it is recommended to bring a warm jacket for the morning and evening as the cold increases and in the day we can use light clothing, you should also wear sneakers for short walks, hat or cap, sunscreen and sunglasses. If you plan to visit between December and March it is advisable to bring waterproof clothing since it is the rainy season.

  • How high is the Colca Valley?

During the tour we will make a stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes; this is located at 4900 meters above sea level, it is the highest point of the entire route. And the town of Chivay is located at an altitude of 3635 meters above sea level.

  • Can I pay with credit card in the Colca Valley?

It is advisable to carry cash since not all establishments offer this service.

  • I have several suitcases, can I leave my bags at the hotel in Arequipa?

We recommend to take only what is necessary to spend the night on this tour, so yes, you can leave your luggage at the hotel in Arequipa with the corresponding check and on your return the second day you can pick it up.

  • Is it advisable to do this tour with adults and children?

You can do the tour with adults and children after acclimatization in the city of Arequipa, it is advisable to stay at least 01 day in the city to avoid altitude sickness during the tour.

  • Do I have to pay to enter the Colca Valley?

Yes, the payment is made when entering the valley according to the nationality of each passenger.
