Choqolaqa Stone Forest

Early departure from your accommodation in Arequipa by private transportation.

Drive to Choqolaqa (3:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.): Approximately 7 hours drive, passing through the picturesque villages of Imata, Condoroma and Challuta. The trip includes about 5 hours on paved road and 2 hours on unpaved road.

Preparation for a hike of approximately 1.5 hours to the Bosque de Piedras. It is recommended to be in good physical condition, as the trail involves a moderate climb.

Bosque de Piedras Exploration (11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.): Time to tour and photograph the impressive rock formations that date back thousands of years. The guide will provide information about the legends and geology of the site.

Approximately 1 hour descent to the place where the transport awaits.

Lunch en route (2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.): Stop at a local restaurant in the town of Condoroma (may vary) to enjoy the regional gastronomy.

Return trip to Arequipa (3:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.): Transfer of approximately 5.5 hours back to the city, with an estimated arrival at 9:00 p.m.

Important Note: Due to the altitude and terrain conditions, this tour is not recommended for small children or people with health problems that may be affected by altitude. It is suggested to consult with a doctor before doing activities at high altitude.
