Itinerary
03:30 AM – Beginning of the journey to the Colca Valley.
We start our trip at the earliest time to make the most of the day.
05:30 AM – Volcanoes viewpoint (4,910 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of the entire tour.
From here, we will be able to observe the volcanic mountain range of southern Peru, including Sabancaya (active), Hualca Hualca, Chachani and Misti.
07:00 AM – Breakfast in Chivay.
We will enjoy a comforting breakfast in the village, where we can rest and recharge our batteries for the next part of the trip.
08:30 AM – Viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor.
We will arrive at this observation point, famous for its impressive view of the Colca Canyon and the majestic flight of the condors. We will spend some time here to enjoy the scenery and wildlife.
09:30 AM – Stops at viewpoints to appreciate the pre-Inca Collagua culture.
Along the way, we will make stops to admire these ancient agricultural systems that are still in use in some areas.
11:00 AM – Visit to the district of Maca.
We will tour the town of Maca, visiting its church and main square. We will also have the option to taste a delicious Colca Sour, a typical drink made with local fruits.
12:30 PM – Arrival in Achoma and experience.
We will be welcomed by a local family who will invite us to share a day of their daily life. Depending on the season, we will be part of agricultural activities, such as planting or harvesting local products. We will also be able to dress up in typical costumes and participate in the traditional Wititi, an Andean dance declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
14:00 PM – Lunch in Achoma.
We will enjoy a traditional lunch overlooking the impressive agricultural terraces of the valley, while sharing with the host family.
15:30 PM – Chacapi hot springs in Yanque.
Let’s relax in the hot springs of Chacapi, a perfect place to rest and enjoy the surrounding nature.
16:30 PM – Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
We will make a brief stop to observe South American camelids, especially vicuñas, in their natural habitat. We will take the opportunity to take some pictures of these emblematic animals of the Andes.
18:00 PM – Return to Arequipa.
We end our experience with an approximate arrival to Arequipa at 18:00 PM, with unforgettable memories of the Colca Valley.

The tour is designed to be accessible, but we recommend that young children or older people with respiratory problems consult their doctor before joining, due to the altitude and the hikes.
You will enjoy a traditional breakfast and lunch in the Colca villages, including typical food such as potatoes, quinoa and meat dishes. In addition, you will enjoy local drinks such as the Colca Sour. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.
