🚐 07:00 AM – Pick up from your hotel
We start our trip from your hotel to the majestic Colca Valley, one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons on the planet.
🌄 Scenic route with stops
During the trip, we will make several stops to enjoy the Andean landscape and its natural and cultural richness:
- Pampa Cañahuas: We will observe vicuñas in their natural habitat, the most representative camelid of the region.
- Patahuasi: Short break to drink a traditional coca tea, ideal to acclimatize to the altitude.
- Mirador de los Volcanes (4,910 masl): Highest point of the trail, from where you can see the mountain range and several Andean volcanoes.
🏞️ Descent to Chivay and arrival at Coporaque.
From the viewpoint, we descend to the town of Chivay (approximately 45 minutes) and then continue to the traditional village of Coporaque, where our host family will welcome us warmly.
🍽️ Lunch and relaxation in an experiential house
We will enjoy a homemade lunch prepared with organic products grown by the local family. Afterwards, we will settle into our rooms and have time to rest.
🚶♂️ Cultural hike and archaeological exploration
In the afternoon, we will walk around the town square and visit the Local Interpretation Center. Then we will start a walk to Yuraqaqa, where we will discover ancient chullpas (pre-Inca tombs) and mummies. In this sacred place we will perform a small Andean ritual of gratitude to the tutelary hill. The hike lasts approximately 2 hours (round trip) on a quiet trail.
💧 Relaxation in the hot springs of Sallihua
We end the day with a relaxing bath in the hot springs of Sallihua, perfect for recovering energy after the hike.
🍲 Dinner and cultural evening
Back at the lodge, we will enjoy a traditional dinner. To close the day, we will share stories, legends and local experiences in the warmth of the home with our host family.
