Itinerary
13:50 p.m. We will begin our tour to the Chullpas of Sillustani, located 45 minutes from the city of Puno. In this fascinating archaeological site, we will admire the impressive funerary towers of the Inca and pre-Inca times, built to house the most important characters of the region, along with their most valuable objects. This place offers a unique insight into ancestral funerary practices and their connection to the Andean cosmovision.
16:50 p.m. We will start our return to the city of Puno. During the trip, we will make a brief stop at a local family’s house, where we can learn about their customs and traditions. This family still lives in a traditional house built with stones, mud and straw. In addition, we will have the opportunity to observe and learn about South American camelids, such as llamas and alpacas, which are a fundamental part of life in the altiplano.
18:00 p.m. We will arrive back to the city of Puno, where we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas, ending this enriching tour.
01 NIGHT IN PUNO
07:00 a.m. Transfer from your hotel or the Plaza de Armas to the lake dock in Puno to begin our adventure.
07:35 a.m. Departure by boat from the Puno dock to the Uros Floating Islands. The trip lasts approximately 25 minutes. On the islands, inhabited by the Uros people, we will see their rural houses built on totora reed platforms, which have a thickness of 30 to 40 cm. On each island live between 5 and 6 families, who keep alive their ancestral customs.
10:30 a.m. We will continue to Amantani Island. During the boat ride, we will enjoy the impressive views of Lake Titicaca, known as the “Sacred Lake of the Incas”. The inhabitants of Amantani preserve their rich culture, manifested in their beliefs, clothing, rites and traditions.
12:00 p.m. Arrival to Amantani Island, where we will be able to see the locals wearing their typical costumes. We will visit their rural houses, the main square and observe their textiles and customs. Amantani is considered Cultural Heritage of the Nation thanks to its experiential tourism and its beautiful landscape.
15:00 p.m. Return to the lake port of Puno.
17:00 p.m. Arrival in Puno and transfer near the main square.
01 NIGHT IN PUNO
09:00 a.m. We start our Pedestrian City Tour in Puno, exploring the main attractions of the city:
- The Cathedral of Puno, an imposing colonial style building.
- Deústua Arch, a historical monument that commemorates the independence of Puno.
- Huajsapata Hill, a viewpoint with panoramic views of the city and Lake Titicaca.
- Kuntur Wasi Condor Viewpoint, an excellent spot to observe the majesty of the condor and the landscape.
- Latkacota Market, where you can learn about the daily life of the local people and their typical products.
- Malecón Turístico, a picturesque walk along the shores of the lake, ideal for enjoying the scenery and taking pictures.
12:00 p.m. Free time to enjoy lunch, with the recommendations of our guide to taste the local gastronomy.
