Itinerary
07:30 a.m. We will start picking up passengers from their hotels or from the previously coordinated meeting point.
08:00 a.m. We will begin our visit to Chucuito, a place of great historical importance during the Viceroyalty of Peru, known as the center of the Collao towns. During colonial times, Chucuito became famous for its silver mines and was baptized as the “City of the Royal Boxes”, thanks to the impressive buildings surrounding its Main Square, a site that still fascinates visitors.
From Atojja Hill, located 667 meters above the level of Lake Titicaca, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the altiplanic horizon, the lake and the islands of Taquile and Amantaní. We can also observe the chullpas of Ventilla in Chucro and the ruins of Luquina Chico, vestiges that enrich the historical and cultural landscape of the region.
Due to its strategic location, Chucuito has been inhabited for more than 12,000 years, with the first settlers dedicated to hunting. This place was part of the Tiahuanaco civilization and the Tunihuiri Ceremonial Center, a monumental work attributed to the Pukaras, stands out as a tourist attraction.
A journey full of history, unique landscapes and ancient culture awaits you in this fascinating destination.
09:30 a.m. We will visit the Temple of Fertility – Inca Uyo, a place full of history and symbolism, known for its phallic sculptures that give it its fame. At the entrance of the enclosure are two imposing sculptures, while another eighty are distributed in the interior areas, forming a unique scenario that intrigues and fascinates visitors.
It is believed that the Inca Uyo was originally an ushno, a sacred place dedicated to the worship of Mother Earth and fertility. This space was used for ceremonies related to agricultural production, essential for the life of the ancient Inca settlers.
The enclosure covers approximately 200 square meters, surrounded by a wall of carefully carved stones. Inside, a smaller wall complements the design, allowing the Incas to take astronomical readings and determine the ideal times for agricultural activities.
This site, loaded with symbolism and mysticism, is a window to the beliefs and traditions of one of the most advanced civilizations in the Americas.
10:30 a.m. We will continue our visit with an explanation about the Waru Waru, an ingenious ancestral agricultural technique developed by the highland cultures to take advantage of flood-prone areas.
This practice consists of forming raised platforms, known as “beds”, surrounded by water channels. This design not only allows planting in adverse conditions, but also creates a microclimate that helps mitigate the effects of frost, protecting the crops and ensuring their development.
The Waru Waru are a testimony to the deep knowledge that Andean civilizations had about their environment, demonstrating their ability to adapt agriculture to the difficult climatic conditions of the altiplano. This system remains a model of agricultural sustainability and efficiency.
13:30 p.m. We will visit the Chullpas de Molloco, an impressive archaeological site that stands out for its architectural beauty and its cultural fusion between the Incas and the Lupacas.
The Molloco Archaeological Center is located in the district of Acora, in the province and region of Puno, just 36 kilometers from the city of Puno, along the Puno – Desaguadero road, which facilitates access for visitors. This destination has gained great interest among travelers and adventurers from all over the world, which has motivated local authorities and the population to work on its promotion and conservation.
The Chullpas de Molloco are funerary structures built at high altitude, offering a panoramic view of the region. They are a fascinating example of pre-Inca architecture, and their privileged location and the mystery that surrounds them make this place an essential stop for those seeking to delve into the history and culture of the Andes.
14:30 p.m. We will arrive at the Aramu Muru Portal, also known as “Hayu Marca” or “Wilika Uta”, a mystical and energetic place located near Lake Titicaca. This altar carved from a single piece of rock, measuring over 5 meters high, is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, making it a landmark for many visitors in search of a unique spiritual experience.
For many, the Aramu Muru Portal is a place of great energetic concentration, where body and soul are immediately nourished. It is a place where one feels a deep sense of peace, releasing the tensions and pressures of everyday life. Here, visitors find an ideal space for meditation and reflection on their spiritual and daily life.
Many people claim to have found answers to their questions and return home with renewed hope and energy. This is, without a doubt, a special place for those seeking a deeper connection with their inner self.
17:00 p.m. We will return to the city of Puno, where we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas, concluding a day full of history, culture and energy.
